My freshman year of college my friend Jensen Holliday committed suicide. All that was left of her, aside from coffee stained cups and puff sleeved blouses was her poetry and our conversations. The Fibers of Our Being explores the concept of someone's words and our memories of them becoming woven into our identity, their actions and words lingering, even long after they have passed.
A transcription of one of Jensen’s poems titled According to Quantum Physics, You Can Never Really Know What’s In a Sugar Packet Until You Tear That Yellow Paper Open is written on one of the figures, while a transcription of the first few minutes of one of our recorded conversations is transcribed onto the fabric that was used to create the weaving.
